Ice Skating 2

I so much enjoyed painting yesterdays ice skating painting, I just did one more. The sketch I did yesterday is not very good, so I used a lot of fantasy in these two ice skating pictures, but I still had the music of the Wiener Walzer in my ear, and the floating dance like movement of the ice skaters in front of my minds eye.

It is a wonderful quality in both of these skating paintings that the viewer is able to know, instantly, despite the great economy of your painting method, that these figures are indeed teetering on iceskates. You have instinctively seized upon some subtle, but highly informative, element of an ice skater's gesture. The negative space of the light ice sheet cut up by the dark legs is exciting, as well. I agree with a previous poster that you keep getting better and better!

You amaze me as always, I can pick out your work every time. I like how you can take a busy scene and paint the values so well that everything reads just right.
